The race begins at 10:30 a.m. This rowing race takes place every year on the second Sunday of May in Toscolano Maderno on Lake Garda. The Gardalonga is a marathon rowing event for any type of boat. Many athletes participate with different types of boats, ranging from the bissa (a typical local boat) and Garda gondola to canoes, gigs, and whalers. There are even strange and spectacular crafts such as the dragon boat (12 meters long with a dragon head and tail, powered by 20 rowers and drummer and steersman) and all sorts of prototypes.
Limone sul Garda will welcome Giro d'Italia 2012 on May 21 (rest-day) and May 22 (departure of the 16th leg Limone sul Garda - Pfalzen for a total of 174 km.). The official presentation of the 95th edition of Giro d'Italia 2012 confirmed the participation and presence of Limone sul Garda as the point of departure for the 16th leg of one of Europe's most important team bicycle races and Italy's top cycling event.

The Eiffel Tower and Red Square were not enough to beat the candidacy of the Trentino city this year. From July 15 to 24, in fact, Arco will host the Climbing World Championship 2011. Over the past twenty-seven years, MusicaRivaFestival has gradually made a name for itself and become the most important music festival of Riva del Garda and Trentino. Combining master classes and student performances, this wonderful festival presents a different performance each evening for fifteen days. These performances are by the professors of the master classes and range from classical music and opera to orchestral direction, singing, piano and violin.
The first leg of the Garda Kayak Circuit for AIDO (Italian Association of Organ Donation) will set out on June 29, 2011 from Desenzano del Garda. The arrival in Desenzano is planned for July 3, 2011. The race will cover 78 miles by kayak in five days, traveling clockwise on the lake starting out from the Lega Navale of Desenzano and stopping for a night in the towns of Maderno, Riva del Garda, Torri del Benaco, and Peschiera. There will be an official meeting in each of these towns with local AIDO chapters and government officials to promote AIDO.
The Benacus Cultural Association, in cooperation with Promobenacus Produzioni and the Look & Style fashion agency, is organizing for the 6th year in a row one of the most colorful and curious artistic events in Italy: an art show dedicated to body painting. The Garda Jazz Festival stages performances in picturesque local settings such as castles and lake-front terraces. Each edition offers a chance to watch the acrobatics of the champions, visit Europe's largest exhibition, test the latest products still not sold on the market, and participate in races or guided tours for young and old. 20,000 visitors are expected at Riva del Garda for the SYMPATEX BIKE Festival Garda Trentino powered by NISSAN, the event that will inaugurated the Mountain Bike season. The festival will be held at Palazzo dei Congressi [Convention Center] near downtown Riva del Garda.

Fish & Chef is fast approaching! The event featuring local products from Lake Garda will be held on the first four Sundays of May (May 1, 8, 15, 22). The event will take place in Malcesine (VR), where dinners prepared by famous Italian chefs will be served, and in the nearby village of Cassone, which will present the great food and wine from the area. The two towns will be easily reached by way of the Tourist shuttle bus, for a tasty itinerary with breathtaking scenery.
The antiques market of Desenzano del Garda, which is held on Piazza Malvezzi every first Sunday of the month (suspended in January and August) is one of Italy's most valid antiques market. Exhibitors are carefully selected and only 60 are chosen. All exhibitors are required to issue authenticity certificates on items of value. Moreover, a group of Expert Appraisers from the Turin Court System periodically inspect the market.
MATISSE AND MICHELANGELO a meeting of two great artists seduced by form. Starting February 11, 2011, Artematica and Fondazione Brescia Musei will present "Matisse. La seduzione di Michelangelo", an exhibit that analyzes the relationship between the sculptures and paintings of the French artist, starting out from a study of Michelangelo's art. The works of these two artists are compared in an innovative way in this important exhibit at the Santa Giulia Museum of Brescia that takes a completely new approach in interpreting Matisse's extraordinary art.
The Giro del Trentino 2011 race, held from April 19 to 22, will start once again with a spectacular timed individual race along the Trentino banks of Lake Garda. The inaugural 13.4 kilometer timed race of the 35th edition of the Trentino stage race will start out from Riva del Garda, a splendid garden city of the Trentino province, and will arrive in Arco. The first athlete in the race will leave the platform on Piazza Cesare Battisti at 1:45 p.m., with the striking Rocca di Riva castle in the background.

Lake Garda will be decorated in the colors of the Italian flag when the event European Championship for diversely-abled sailors will be held at Gargnano from May 24 to 29, and for the 61st Centomiglia, scheduled for the weekend of September 11 and 12, 2011. The 61st Centomiglia race of Lake Garda and the European Access Championships 2011 have begun their worldwide promotional tour. The tour will present the continental regatta for diversely-abled sailors, which will be held at Gargnano on Lake Garda from May 24 to 29 with the ?Open? formula because Australia's national Paralympic team and representatives from the "Old Continent" will also be competing.

The colours, costumes, music and merriment: Carnival has always been the favourite festival of children, but in Garda Trentino it is a joy for grownups as well. Rites associated with the reawakening of life, local fairs, food festivals and lots of fun! The Great Carnival takes place in Arco each year. During this famous event, a traditional parade of allegorical floats winds through the streets of the small town. Splendid balls in which the guests are dressed in costumes from the Hapsburg period are held in the rooms of the Casinò.
'S-ciapì' is played on Easter Sunday in Pieve di Tremosine. This is a very old, traditional game using hard-boiled eggs decorated with natural colours made from infusions of herbs or fruit/vegetable peel. To play the game, one contestant holds a hard-boiled egg in his hand while the other contestant hits it with another egg. The winner is the one who manages to keep his egg intact. The loser must give their egg to the winner. This game evokes the simple, traditional pastimes of yesteryear, taking the contestants back to a time when people managed to enjoy themselves with very simple things. The event also features music, cakes and white wine.
Following the success of two previous editions, the preview and sampling of the famous Bardolino and Chiaretto 2010 wines has returned. Lazise on Lake Garda is the ideal setting for this event held in the gorgeous Dogana Veneta. Starting at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, March 6, seventy local producers and members of the Bardolino and Chiaretto Consortium, assisted by expert sommeliers from AIS in Verona, will freely serve samples of their wine, describing the quality and characteristics and comparing them to previous vintages.

Hercules the Founder is a new type of exhibit that analyzes the passage from the pagan legend of Hercules to its revival by the Christian church in the Middle Ages and up to the 16th century. The exhibit is an opportunity to review the legend through a precious selection of medieval and Renaissance archeological works that depict some of the themes tied to the figure of Hercules. With this exhibit, Hercules returns to Brescia, the city that he supposedly founded. The origins of Brescia are a thing of legend: some attribute it to Hercules and others say it was Troe who escaped from Troy in flames and arrived in the place where Brescia now stands, where he founded Altilia (which means the other Ilio, which is the ancient name for Troy).
Mount Baldo is certainly one of the favorite Veronese destinations for people who love the mountains both summer and winter. Unfamiliar trails or routes area always an attraction in any season. The awesome natural scenery and the silence and calm of the mountains make this place even more amazing. The snow in winter is an extra reason to go to Mount Baldo for an organized snowshoe race.

The city of Beilngries in Germany will present interesting objects from its "Technikmuseum" city museum, informative literature on the Altmühltal Natural Park, special Bavarian dishes, and folkloric music.
The Pearl of the Lake will welcome Santa Claus and his special little helpers. The magic of Christmas in Malcesine encounters the magical world of the elves. From December 5, 2010 to January 6, 2011, the splendid town on Lake Garda will host the third edition of Mercatino degli Elfi - Natale al Castello di Malcesine (The Elf Market - Christmas in Malcesine Castle). The event, organized by the Malcesine city council and the Malcesine Più association, will animate the city and reveal its winter charm. Young and old alike will be dazzled by the lights and colors reflecting on the waters of Lake Garda.

2010 Giro del Trentino looking up Stage 2 to end in S.Martino di Castrozza The 34th edition of the Giro del Trentino (April 20 to 23, 2010) will guarantee another exciting sport event. Race organisers announced the details of the second stage, Giro del Trentino Queen Stage, that will lead the peloton to the 1st categorized mountain top finish up to San Martino di Castrozza (1466m). The deal has been sealed between San Martino di Castrozza touristic head office and "Gruppo Sportivo Alto Garda". The 2010 Giro del Trentino opens with an individual time trial on April 20 along Garda Lake (Trentino's side). Stage 2 will cross Passo del Brocon (1615 metres) and Passo Gobera (Category Two, 998 metres) before the 13,7km long final ascent up to San Martino di Castrozza (marked out by a maximum gradient of 10 per cent).
